The 3rd annual Spinnaker Summit 2019 is coming up in just 9 short days, November 15-17. As an Armory n8b and the new Open Source Evangelist for Spinnaker, I can hardly wait!!
For some, this exciting San Diego event will make a perfect continuous-delivery prelude to KubeCon, the cloud-native mega-conference featuring Kubernetes and other CNCF-ecosystem projects. For others, especially the growing community of engineers, web developers, solutions architects, leaders, and Fortune 100 companies using Spinnaker to innovate, Spinnaker Summit is the main event.
So, what can you expect to experience at the Summit? Of course, Spinnaker users from around the globe will gather to converse about technical solutions and business value realized by adopting the platform. 50 speakers and over 25 companies will represent. Special Interest Groups in the Spinnaker community will hold open meetings to discuss initiatives and get feedback. Some highlights:
Conversations will tackle topics like security, service mesh, EKS, microservices, debugging, config generation and shared libraries, secrets management, managed delivery, and so much more! As a former New Mexican techie, I personally am super pumped to hear about Descartes Labs’ experience using Spinnaker to streamline deployment of its sustainability-minded AI software to a large kubernetes infrastructure. That’s my jam, but whatever you like to nerd out on, and wherever you and your organization are in a cloud migration or continuous delivery journey, we’d love for you to join us! As I write this, registration is still open, so click here to secure your tickets.
Please stop by the Armory booth in the Expo Hall to say hi : ) If you can’t make it, or if you’re JUST SO STOKED YOU CAN’T WAIT TO DIVE IN, (I know the feeling!) check out these links featuring stories of the transformative power of Spinnaker:

Software deployment processes differ across organizations, teams, and applications. The most basic, and perhaps the riskiest, is the “big bang deployment.” This strategy updates all nodes within the target environment simultaneously with the new software version. This deployment strategy causes many issues, including potential downtime or other issues while the update is in progress. It […]

Multi-target deployments can feel tedious as you deploy the same code over and over to multiple clouds and environments — and none of them in the same way. With an automatic multi-target deployment tool, on the other hand, you do the work once and deliver your code everywhere it needs to be. Armory provides an […]
