Extremely Easy Installation Script for Spinnaker
Nov 15, 2016 by DROdio
We’re putting the finishing touches on an extremely easy installation script for Spinnaker. Here’s an early peek:
- Enterprise users will be able to run our install script
- We’ll prompt for the key file
- The script will download everything it needs, ensure permissions, standup dbs, etc.
Here’s a Transcript:
DROdio: All right, so already late night.
Isaac: Very late night.
DROdio: Can barely keep your eyes open. What have you got, Isaac? Show me.
Isaac: So I’m going to show you how easy it is to install our version of Spinnaker. All you’re going to do is just get our script, which I hope will work, which is going to be get.armory.io. and then just run it. And then it’ll just prompt you for everything. So we’re going to give it a S3 bucket and a path. And we need to give it a key file that is a key that we give to our enterprise users. I have mine on my desktop (/Users/isaacmosquera/Desktop/gcp_key.json). So then it’s going to download anything else that it needs. And then it’s going to start. And then it’s just going to install and stand everything up and make sure you have the right permissions for everything and that everything is talking to each other in the right way. So that’s it.
DROdio: It’s literally that. It only took… I mean I’ve been taking this video for a minute.
Isaac: … databases, making sure everything is good. Should be able to get running with it soon.
DROdio: That’s so cool. How long will this whole process take?
Isaac: Probably about five minutes or so.
DROdio: That’s awesome, man. Cool. Very nice. … All right, very cool. Not bad for a day’s work.
Isaac: No, not bad.
